At the end of the Culinary Calendar, Swedish Chef of the Year, Johann Backeus, served a special menu to the members of the Gastronomiska Academies. The Gastronomiska Akademien, Sweden's Association for the Protection and Promotion of Gastronomic Culture, has 17 members elected for life, including the head of the Swedish royal family Carl XVI Gustaf.
